    Key Fob/Battery issue

THIS! Brilliant. Worked for me. This also explains why it was OK for me for the first year then deteriorated. Bend the contacts and the warning went away. Thanks.

    R18 vs Harley

I've owned Harley softtails and Road King before getting my 22 R18B FE. I'll be honest if money were not a consideration, I'll probably get a fully loaded CVO Streetglide instead. However, R18B is ~$20k vs $40~50k CVO. And I like the big boxer enough that in my mind it is 80-90% as good as the...

They provide one-piece dual seat only for R18B and TC.

    Solo Seat Option for R18B

I did quite a lot of searching/reading and couldn't find a firm answer on this: Does R18B have any solo seat option? All Solo or 2-piece seats I've seen are for R18 or classic. Can someone point me to a sure fit solo seat for R18B? Thanks.

Are these wire leads supposed to be exposed like this?

That's great info. thanks! This makes much more sense now, having it exposed and easy to access is indeed a plus, and the aesthetic and other concerns minus of course.

Are these wire leads supposed to be exposed like this?

LoL I didn't mean danger of electrocution, I meant what if I drop a metal tool and it shorts out. i.e. danger of short circuit.

Are these wire leads supposed to be exposed like this?

I've had my 22 R18B for several months and just noticed this, along the front edge of the right side cover, there are quite a few exposed wire connectors. Is this how it's supposed to be? Seems a little dangerous to me or am i just too paranoid?

    Cost of first service

I'll go in next week, San Jose BMW quoted ~$550 for my 22 R18B. Definitely on the high side IMO but not outrageous I guess given the high cost area they are in.

    Am I the only one?

My main worry is in the event of a tip over, the pegs may fold in and damage the head cover. Plus my legs are too short haha.

    Rear Bag Guards

I have the Roadstyler version. No complaints, very nice fit and finish. They are like the ones on my Harley Road King, just a simple loop design. I haven't tested their effectiveness yet ;) fingers crossed. I don't see why it would have any suspension related issues, it has 2 mounting points...

    Engine temperature

I couldn't find engine temperature on my R18B, I think BMW should have put an oil temp gauge in place of that useless "power reserve" gauge.

    Cost of first service

Shouldn't the number of hours needed and parts needed be the same across all dealership? The only variable should be labor rate. For those who did the service, how many hours of labor were quoted? 2 hours?

    Cost of first service

If you are referring to the SW version reported by the TFT screen, I see 013_012_050 oon mine (22 R18B). I think I saw other members reported 013_013_xxx

    Cost of first service

Why would there be such a huge range for the same service? Shouldn't these be "by the book"? i.e. each service calls for certain pre-defined labor hours, I can't imagine the labor/hour varies that much. I want to support my local dealer as much as possible but it's always good to know what is...

About to pull the trigger, How bad is the vibration?

Put on grip puppies today, defintely helped, feel much better.

About to pull the trigger, How bad is the vibration?

Thanks for the advice, indeed I will try to get used to it first. It does already have floor board and heel shifter, I can use heel shifter but prefer not to so my muscle memory doesn't rely on heel shifter.

About to pull the trigger, How bad is the vibration?

Took delivery today! The actual R18B FE feels the same as the 2023 demo I rode, as most people mentioned, its comfort zone is 2-3k. Lower or higher than that vibration will be there. I'm still getting used to the (feels tiny) shifter, may need to get an extension for that.

About to pull the trigger, How bad is the vibration?

I think B and TC all can have it (the hardware is housed in the front fairing). The one I ordered will have it.

Put down the deposit for a fully optioned R18B FE, deal is just too good to pass. Once I get it will post pictures ☺️

About to pull the trigger, How bad is the vibration?

Exactly my feeling too, my last bike was a 103 Road King. Most of my riding will be commuting so I think I should be fine with R18.
