2022 BMW R18 Classic (loaded with options!) - New Lower Price!

BMW incentives are going away. Dealers are ordering fewer bikes and are not discounting them as much either. Prices will rebound on the used market. I think the Classic is a great value. There aren't as many used ones for sale either.

What Bike Would You Trade Your R18 for?

An electric motorcycle, Zero or even that BMW CE 02 that's coming out.

Not that I know. We have Mexican plated cars here in Houston. I've never seen or heard any problem with it. I know the border is in the news but inland is different. People cross the border both ways all the time. Plus I don't think most people will be able to tell where your bike is from...

Homage Seat Modification for more Padding?

Has anyone modified their Homage seat to add extra padding? I like my solo seat but it's a little hard on bumps. I've thought about adding an inch or two of padding. Thoughts?

It's about 1 inch taller than stock. I wouldn't say it gets you closer to the tank/ handlebar. If I was going to tour, it would be my first choice.

Yes I did. I test rode a Bagger, a Classic, and a Pure. I felt the 16" gave me the best feeling. I initially wanted a Bagger. I ended up with a Classic. I really like the extra height from the solo seat. I wish it was even a little taller - may be another inch? What I like is that I can turn the...

Yes it is the Classic without bags and windshield. I bought the Classic because I like the 16" front wheel better. I like the "naked" look too so I just stripped things off.

    Annual Service

I have the service light that came on. I've owned my bike and I am in between regular services - 600 miles service was done a few months ago but I am not quite yet at 6,000 miles. This is the first BMW I own that requires an annual service. Has anyone done it? What do they actually do? I can't...

    Inflating Tires

We had a cool front that brought temps down. My tires needed air. Went to my local gas station and aired the tires. It was a PITA! I have a Classic and the small wire wheels made it difficult. BMW should have 90 degree stem valves. Rant over.

    Bagger vs Classic

I test rode both bikes and ended up with the Classic. I like the feel of the 16" front wheel better than the 19" wheel.

Poll: How do you ride your R18 engine?

I ride in ROCK mode all the time. Because it is a cruiser, I take it easy. I ride at 60-65 mph. I get a steady 50 mpg which blows my mind every time.
