I have "several" bikes. Moved my primary residence to Soutwest Florida recently and had to decide which bike to keep here. It surprised me, but I came to the conclusion that if I had to pick just one nice weather bike, the R18 was it. It was a ton of fun riding it from Maryland to Florida in...
It was unreliable enough for me that I just stopped using reverse. In my experience, it only seemed to happen when I actually needed it to work. The bike seemed to know when I was just testing it in the driveway and when I actually was out and needed it to get out of wherever I was.
Looks simple enough. For me personally though, I've found that I don't need the visual afterall. I use bluetooth ear plugs for music anyway, and I find that the audio alone from my phone (stuffed in my pocket) navigation app provides richer instructions than even the NAV display on my R1250GS...
Now you have me thinking... I did the software modification to fix the fuel pump whine.... I never correlated it with that, but I suppose it's possible..
If it weren't for the fact that it didn't recharge on the tender, it definitely points to a charging system problem.
When you had the battery on the tender, did the tender indicate that the battery was fully charged after a reasonable charging period?
The camera editing software automatically edits the camera and pole that holds it out of each frame of the video. Really surprising how well it works. It doesn't fully edit out the mount though. You can see the bottom end of the clamp that is on the right side of the Wunderlich rack on the...
Thanks Varg... It's the Insta360. Video is compressed on YouTube, but the quality out of the thing is astounding uncompressed. The way that it edits itself out is also impressive.
The editor is easy to use, and allows you to dynamically select the point of view. Here is one (on my /2) with...
I use the BMW branded tailbag made for the R1250GS. It's waterproof, has a hard plastic bottom with an indentation that works with most hard racks (including the Wunderlich rack on my classic). It has a stackable second bag that works well also for more storage. I don't have a pic of the bag...
Amazon is probably as good a place as any. Price seems to be the same everywhere.
Depending on what you want to do with it, OBDLink is less than half the price. I use it to reset the service reminders on both the 1250GS and R18.
Definitely wasn't a fluke. It behaved that way for about a year. It wasn't a big deal. I just accepted that it took a couple of hits on the starter. I don't think it stopped doing that suddenly...but eventually I realized that it was starting on the first try.
Works, but both it and the OBDLink are a bit clunky. I didn't have an Android phone, and MotoScan only works on Android. No biggie. Ordered a $40 Android tablet that arrived same-day. The OBDLink took a few tries to get working and paired with the tablet. The only way I got MotoScan to work...
