Poll about Final Drive (Bevel Gear) Oil Spillage on the rim and tyre

At just shy of 12k miles mine is actually leaking. It's wet at the opening between the wheel and final drive housing and collecting at the bottom of the housing forming small drips after riding. It's in line for a rear seal at my local dealer which is covering it under warranty. They want it...

    Reverse Module

My dealer mentioned this after handling my headlight recall. The service writer didn't have anymore details than what's already been posted other than BMW hasn't released the "fix" yet.

    Ear plugs / ear protection

I use EarPeace plugs. They're great for killing the wind noise yet allowing my intercom system to not be at full volume. They're also easy to keep clean and comfortable for all day wear.

What's the jacket of choice for your R18?

Yeah, that's a tough one to handle. I'd just find some nice A/C area and leave the bike parked. I have family in Dallas, and that heat is brutal! I avoid riding there during the summer months for visits.

What's the jacket of choice for your R18?

I use a Held Quattro Tempi for early spring-Fall, and an older BMW branded Tour Shell for winter. The Held has many well placed vents, water proof, and for me is comfortable up to around 80 degrees F. The Tour Shell is one heavy jacket, but it keeps me comfy to my limit of 38 F riding with...

    New owner in Western Washington

Thanks Bob, I found the R18 motor to be rather "tight" during the 600 mile break in period. It's good to hear that it'll set in more over the next couple of oil changes. I've already found some ideas on different scissor jack mods for lifting the front/ back of the bike for wheel removal...

    New owner in Western Washington

I just picked up a R18 TC 719 option. I've already logged over 400 miles within the first few days. The bikes' personality reminds me of my all time favorite bike I've ever owned, my R75/5, but way bigger. I found the increased heft and size very manageable after an extended test ride. Now I...
