I started riding when I was 50. Started on a 250cc, then a 650, then a 1200, then a 1600, then progressed to the R-18. I don't know that you need THAT many intermediate steps, but I'm sure glad I started small until I got my confidence level up. Maybe try a 650 first, get really comfortable...

Never occurred to me to lock up my bike. I live in a safe area and keep it in a garage.
