Lot’s of hate for the R1200C. I loved that bike. I parted with it when I got the R18, but looks and ride we’re fantastic in my humble opinion. It was fine by me that you didn’t see a ton of them in the road. I’d bet that many of the critics haven’t ridden one. I still miss it.

Interesting you say that. I agree with the literal statement, but am probably 180 degrees out of phase. I find the stock seat (on the 18C at least) perfect. The side stand on the other hand, not so much. Too much lean. It always feels like I'm dropping the bike every time I get off of it.

I like the red in this bike, but I agree with nielsm that it'd be off-the-hook with the white pinstripe. I couldn't find a single image out there of a red R18 with the pinstripe. I'm assuming it could be ordered that way...

Assuming that the whistling noise is the typical fuel pump one (and it almost certainly is), there is a firmware fix. They definitely cover it. You shouldn't be charged for that, or anything else other than just the 600mile service.

Don't know if it's true in your area, but around these parts, dealers (of many brands...but the local BMW place in particular) reserve Saturdays for "walk-ins" for simple service. It's first come first serve, and usually turns into a bit of a gathering each Saturday. Most folks get there...
