I have only noticed the sound from my fuel pump when I turn on the ignition, but not after starting the engine. I will have to listen more carefully next time. When in doubt, you might want to stop by your dealership and ask to hear another R18, to compare it to yours.

It appears to be excess grease that's come out of the lower steering stem bearing. It is probably nothing to be concerned about, but I suggest that you have it checked out at the dealership. I may be that the top clamp & steering stem need to be reset and torqued.
