It happens, and ALWAYS in the dumbest way. I ALMOST dropped my tricked out Harley at the gas station when the kickstand spring popped up the stand when I thought it was down. The bike was just about to drop but I foolishly refused to let it go and almost broke my leg....I did save it though...

Looks good! Might remove the rear footpegs...and slap on some Roland Sands valve cover guards..... Personally unless you really need them, no saddle bags....keep it clean.....

Bought the 23 Anniversary edition. I like a more stripped down look. Besides the paint scheme (retro) and a few other small differences, my thinking was that the bike might hold it's value a little better down the road. Which is why I'm leaving it stock minus the rear seat and foot pegs...

Sounds ridiculous. Very often a good trustworthy Motorcycle tire shop does brakes also. There should be a few aftermarket pads that fit, or can be easily made to fit. Somewhere around 125-135 each should do the trick. WTF is mounting hardware??? The pads fit right where the BMW pads are...

I have the same bike....and and trying like hell to just leave it alone. I removed the rear seat and footpegs, added the Roland Sands valve covers..plan to do the bren tune remap and swap out the air filter....and leave it alone.... It's kind of a classic as is....don't want to F with it....

My bike is new, going for my 600 mile service soon. I assume the bike leaves the factory with Dinosaur oil for break in, but it might be a blend. Not sure what they will put in it at the service, some sort of 15-50.... My concern is BMW buying their oil and filters in bulk, so they in theory...
