Do you have a GS-911 or something similar? ... If yes, see if all switches (Safety stuff) operate as they should ... so kick-stand switch ... clutch switch ... neutral switch ... Your start button does not necessarily have to be bad ... there are other switches that come into play when starting...

Yes, I used Kellerman 'Bullet 1000's' and the resistance must be close enough that the Canbus doesn't even notice.

Tighten the knurled nuts up a little more ...the ones on top of the forks ... and when I say tighten it actually is the loosening direction ... this will put a pull on the clips you are talking about ... no way that can rattle after ...

Have you checked if the oil cooler has a leak/puncture? ... I agree with SL that these 2 points are highly unusual (IMO) for a leak. The oil cooler is right in front of that and the wind may fling the oil back ... EDIT: ... and check the oil filter ... I had one with a bad seam (1 in a million...
