Transmissions have been replaced under warranty. Not specifically for the issue mentioned ( that I am aware of) but its good to know that for the most part it sounds as if BMW is honoring warranty claims.

SW Motech. $379 US with free shipping. Only come in black. SW Motech is good quality. Everything I have had on bikes over the years that is SW Motech has been top quality. They also make parts for BMW. Saddlebag brackets ordered from BMW for my R18FE were SW Motech.

My front tire has been howling since new. Mentioned it to the dealer at first service and then again when I was in for a headlight replacement. They did not seem concerned about the problem but commented last time bike was there with approximately 7,800 miles that the front tire is cupping. Gee...

No offense there Adam but your math doesn’t compute. 18k subtracting 11.6K doesn’t equal 11k.

If anyone knows if a buyback is even a viable option please post details here. I would be very interested in that as a remedy.

My question is this: as a TC owner can I simply unbolt and unplug the pigtails without having any fault codes or malfunctions and then when I am ready plug the pigtails back in bolt it all down and have it functional again? I would like to remove my rear trunk as I really only “need” it like...

Only thing I will say is I highly suggest buying an R18 used. They seem to drop value quickly and you could save yourself many thousands of dollars purchasing a low mileage bike that could still possibly be under warranty. 3 year 36,000 miles. Indians in my neck of the woods seem to hold value...

Wow that is terrible! I sure appreciate you sharing your experience though. I often times think about wanting to make a few changes to my bike while its still under warranty but experiences like this help in deciding to wait.

Reading the posts on this forum has me feeling very fortunate. BMW Motorcycles of Portland - Cascade Moto has done a fine job taking care of my bikes thus far. No complaints on workmanship. Friendly staff and an excellent overall experience.
