I received the same letter, the recall is for the retaining clip that holds the pin in place, not the pin. Booked in to be replaced while they do the annual service next week.

I get it occasionally on my TC. Usually when I hold onto 3rd at around forty mph in traffic. I think it is about 3,000 rpm. It is also dependant on the demands you are putting on the engine, as harder acceleration will turn it off.

Just a random thought, is the main loom different or is it just the last part to the light itself that is different. Also, can anyone near you let you try an EU spec light to see if the connectors fit & if it works as intended.

Can your local dealer supply you with EU spec lights, it should then be a simple swap of the lights on the panniers. Although I would have thought that an imported vehicle would be permitted to retain it's original equipment as fitted in it's country of origin.

On the UK TC the speedo reads up to 200, I assume this is to allow the change to Kilometres for the EU models.

Mostly in rock, use roll when it's raining, especially after long dry spells, not fond of the throttle lag in rain mode. I ride according to the conditions at the time, and while I don't baby the engine, I find I get the best out of the bike with a smooth riding style.

I've had two, 1 front & 1 rear on a TC. Tubeless tyres. Front was a screw through the tread, so a temporary repair was possible, the rear was a piece of copper pipe & the hole was to large to fix. The downside is BMW don't recommend repairs to bike tyres, no matter where they are in the tyre.
