My '02 1150GS has always had the 10% speedo 'error'. IIRC from long long ago discussions on the AdvRider forum, this was/is common with BMW's, possibly even the cars. There were some who considered that this may be a corporate choice, for some reason. Others who are more current on this may...

Sorry, haven't heard of anyone doing this particular operation. Is the kickstand safety switch okay? That can create a non-start situation. Also the neutral safety switch. Let us know what you learn! Here is a thread that discusses starting issues, etc...

Yes, I did. I bought the Hornig extenders. They may not have been necessary after I switched the levers but I already had them on the bike so left them on.

I had this issue when adjusting my shifter levers. If you have not already done so, try this... I swapped the inner & outer lever positions on the shaft: moved the rear shift lever to the outside and the front shift lever to the inside of the shaft. Hope this helps.
