I spoke with my dealer a month or so ago. I asked him if corporate or the dealership was absorbing the costs of the recall compensation. He stated, unequivocally, that corporate was absorbing all the costs. He read their notification letter to me over the phone and it was quite clear.

Yup, that's what I did (er, not the posting drunk part... that was a different post 🙄). Went to test ride a K1600 and an R18 TC, knowing that the K1600 was my personal idea of the ultimate bike for me. Hah, how fate plays with us! Bought the TC and have no regrets.

We have an adage, learned from long experience: Trust, but verify. Which we do here. if your venting, let us know... we all need to vent occasionally. If just bitchin', try a calm professionalism rather than irate rant. And, your follow up.was much more helpful. Thank you.

I've only done 2 long-distance rides on my TC: 4,000 mile solo and 1,700 miles 2-up. I can pack all we need onto the TC when using hotels, and can make do when camping. It's not the packhorse that my GS is, but it's adequate. I don't need the kitchen sink! The bike is adequately comfortabke for...

Not that I'm aware of, however I have never had a speedometer read exactly what my speed over ground indicates. My '02 GS has a 10% error; it's a common & known idiosyncracy. Good luck & hope you find a solution.

Counterpoint (sorry Anibal!): I use the charger on the R18 TC all the time, no problems, Samsung something-or-other phone.
