    RSD Style Engine Covers

I’ve literally just installed my front strip cover and had the same thoughts/concerns as you. I decided to use some small (10mm) round felt pads that I dotted around the perimeter on the underside to create a soft base. When I trial fitted it that seemed to do the job nicely so went ahead and...

Hello and enjoy that gorgeous bike 👍

    Luxury (no)problem :-)

Real ‘Bobby dazzler’ that, lovely. Well possibly sacrificing safety a bit it’s got to be the clothes you wear when you ride. Cream silk scarf would have to be on the list 👌

    Luxury (no)problem :-)

Have you posted a picture lately? Would help us visualize where you are going with it. I’ve put rubber lever ends on both of mine, not sure if it’s anything you are interested in. Pic below.

Is it possible to reset service warning

@Caveman. That’s a good tip off for any newbies. I was only aware of two options, not this one. Sounds like a great long term purchase.👍

What did you do to your R18 today?

Yep 👍. Ernie was smaller so that’s the red, Eric is the black (it’s the dark rimmed glasses 😉). Comedy legends and for good reason.

What did you do to your R18 today?

Finally got around to installing my RSD front cover strip. Hopefully it will stand the inevitable road rash a bit better. The silver satin finish is lovely but very soft. Anyhow, I ordered it from Europe Moto about 6 weeks ago. FYI it took ages to arrive, communication from the company was poor...

    DISTINGUISHED GENTLEMAN’s RIDE

I went in my local one a couple of times about eight years ago (jeez time flies). Back then we had to book a slot online, I suppose to keep control of numbers. It was well run, a great day out, I dressed in a suit and tie, piss pot & goggles. From my experience I would deffo suggest trying it at...

    Occasionally losing power!

Sounds weird. It’s not easy to see the instrument cluster warning lights sometimes (in bright sunlight), have you been triggering the traction control by giving it a handful of revs away from the lights perhaps?

    Burping the clutch line

You did change the fluid for the correct stuff didn’t you? I’m sure I’ve read it’s a mineral oil not the normal stuff. Good job tho 👍

South Florida keeps showing up this week

You’re welcome 🫡, not sure what the backrest looks like but you adjust the rear shock by removing the RH side panel, it’s held on by four pegs in rubber grommets, can be a bit of a pig to pull off (for the first time but once you’ve done it once you know how it all looks underneath). Then you...

South Florida keeps showing up this week

Welcome along, despite the weight these bikes are well balanced and seat low so you should feel comfortable with both feet firmly planted. One suggestion I’d make is don’t bother with Rain mode or Roll for that matter because they dial down the throttle response and neuter the initial pick up...

    Adjusting the date

I did my service light last week (using Healtech) and know exactly what you mean/saw. I think the 2008 is just a default figure, and I think the system is quite basic, from what I’ve read, it’s just on a timer really. Like an alarm clock. If you haven’t done so I’d invest in a re-set tool, then...

Professional Detailer damaged my R18 – Need Advice!

Looks a bit of a mess. Quite what they were even thinking is beyond me, whatever solution they’ve daubed onto your bike has clearly been left there for some time to dry completely. Some of it may polish out but I’ve had a sort of similar experience with a car wash that was next to a bike dealer...

    grease on front engine cover

Picture? Says a thousand words…..my guess would be road contamination thrown up by the front wheel. There’s no reason for grease be there really.

What did you do to your R18 today?

The service indicator came on today so I’ve re-set it with my Healtech device. Only reason I mention it really is for the benefit of the newbies that a small investment (cost me about £80 a few years ago) makes life and long term ownership a lot easier. The warning spanner 🔧 is a bit of a PITA...

If it’s the blue the bolts should undo with firm persuasion, just make sure you have a perfect fit to the tool you are using to avoid anything rounding off a head.
