I remove my side case on my Model B when I change the bevel gear fluid; that said, the case is surprisingly heavy - it's definitely heavier than it looks.. oh wait, I'm lazy so I probably left all of my "stuff" in the removed side case.

I guess you could stop in at a dealership and take a test ride, aaannnndddd return it 24 months later.. or 730 days later..

You do realize that 1.25 L is greater than the recommended 1.15 L as specified by BMW maintenance documentation...????

Why not take a stab at servicing your transmission yourself; it's actually very easy, and you'll know it's done correctly....

How much fluid did the Service Shop use in your transmission? It's only supposed to be filled with 1.15 L Are they using the BMW G3 specific fluid?

I keep it simple.. I shoot for Black, Round, Reasonable Priced from a quality brand name; once I find a brand that I like, I stick with it until they let me down and I repeat the above process.. I only got hooked on METZLERS, due to service technician recommending them to me, when I needed...

I couldn't imagine walking away from my R18 Model B for nothing less than $15k to $17k; I'd rather keep it and pass it down to one of my boys, to enjoy the bike for father son rides..

I'd keep it, even if you have an itch that you need to scratch; for me, I like the new HD Street Glide CVO St or Road Glide CVO St even though my R18 is mechanically and feature wise is a more robust platform.
