    Iconic Pictures with R18

If I ever get the chance to do that ride it will be with the wife on the back seat, otherwise I would not be allowed back home

    Iconic Pictures with R18

Now I'm a tad green, what a beautiful place to go riding

    Kickstand plate, pad.

I use a piece of wood with a length of string attached, at work I have a sheet of metal on the floor where I park my TC

    More Faults?!?!

My TC shows 14.2 to 14.4V, mostly a steady 14.3 V when riding, a bigger concern is constantly changing values with larger 2 or 3 volt differences.

    More Faults?!?!

It is worth checking & cleaning the fuses, as they are exposed to the elements. a small amount of battery terminal grease keeps the wet out.

    Two up ?

I ride with my wife on the back of my TC a fair bit as it is our main form of transport, I also ride to work on it every day. Yes two up riding feels a little different, & it takes a couple of stops at junctions to get the feel for the different balance & braking effect. Using rock mode helps...

    Fault

I have a 21 TC, last year on the way home it started running rough, showing an intermittent suspension strut fault, lost the display and all but the speedometer. Made it home and checked for faults like loose leads etc. The main fuse was hot to touch, and the terminals were corroded and one...

"Fault in the engine control" warning on R18B [SOLVED]

Check the condition of the main fuse, 50amp fuse open to the elements, on the right hand side of the bike behind the side panel. A bit of battery terminal grease keeps the water off.

    The R18 sidecar thread

I had the sidecar fitted by Charnwood classics, & they used an upper mount that used both of the front tubes. I attached the oil cooler to that fitting, although it meant removing the fairing section in front of the engine. I liked the way you could do a service without removing the fairing...

    The R18 sidecar thread

No it doesn't need a subframe, it has a cradle frame similar to the R18's.

3 to 4 seats depending on the size & age of passengers, or in our case 2 kids in the front & use the rear seat for carrying things in.

    The R18 sidecar thread

Nice to see getting your dog used to the sidecar is going smoothly, it was far easier with the children, until they got to the age when they started to worry about what their thought about us not owning a car. That changed when 3 of their friends got into our Watsonian Oxford side as they got...

My work in progress over my R18Bagger

As you can switch them on & off as needed I don't see an issue with getting through the MOT. Tell the guy doing your MOT they are for use at shows. Lets be honest they pass bikes with overly bright after market lights that dazzle other road users.

    The R18 sidecar thread

The trick with tyre pressures is to find the set up that gives the best balance between head shake & handling, that's where the experimentation comes in. Not forgetting that a change in load can alter the handling as well.

    The R18 sidecar thread

Hi Petrus, I have never had to worry about the settings of any of my sidecars, as I have bought them used, ready to ride. The exception is my current outfit which I had fitted by Watsonian Sidecars. I have never bothered with ballast in any of my sidecars, & have ridden them solo, with my...

    The R18 sidecar thread

All my sidecars have had a bit of a head shake, I found experimenting with tyre pressures, by raising or lowering them a few PSI, made a difference. It is a case of try it & see what works, & what doesn't. I never completely cured the wobble, but did get it so I could ride one handed without...

    It has been a blast👏👏👏

Does this mean I'm the only one in the UK using an R18 as a daily ride to get to work on? Enjoy the new bike Anibal

    Spring Strut Adjustment Faulty!

It is a good idea to put battery terminal grease on the fuses & the top of the fuse holders to keep the elements at bay.

    Garmin or Google Maps?

I use a garmin sat nav on my VN 1600 outfit, housed in a waterproof case with clear plastic front bought on ebay. Attached to the handlebars with a RAM mount. I've been using the same set up for several years on various bikes. Not needed on the TC as I use the built in sat nav.
