Well not sure conclusion is really the best word I could have chosen, I’ll change that.
But definitely with the bike moving, the portion of the side plate that is ‘open’ is far cooler as compared to not moving. I’ll let smarter people of me draw their own set of possible conclusions. Thx
Anecdotal. I opened my side plates up with the DNA install. It made sense by observation but I did not do any analysis. So today I went for a rip (more on that in the next paragraph). Stopped on the freeway and the portion of the side plate that is exposed to the ‘hole’ was warm. The rest...
I forgot how much crap there is blocking the side vents. Also as a +1 to the idea presented by OP @Lennstang, some of the plugs inside on the right side are wrapped in heat protective insulation which should provide notice of how hot that air gets in there. I painted the silver insulation...
I see the idea of recycling air by allowing hotter air to flow out, mine are open behind the custom side plates for that reason.
However let us not get confused and oversell that opening up the plates will allow more air into the motor. Cooler air maybe, but the engine is not struggling due to...
I’m not going to rain on fun ideas; I will weigh in. Pulling a vacuum to recycle air is technically valid. Even if it works to some degree the system however will never be as productive as pushing air in.
I expect that if this Naca Duct fits, the amount of cool air entering will be dramatic...
Good idea and I applaud the thoughts, but... I expect air temperature not air volume is the next level up from the dna stage 2
Having gone from the snorkels to the open dna mod, we add what I would consider unlimited airflow to the airbox (As compared to the snorkels). Less velocity, but...
