    R18 B 7 Jurock Windscreen

Sad to hear that some folks are having issues getting to their optimal setup. Please keep posted on your progress and impressions. I'm considering getting one of these as I've found that with my preferred helmet, Schuberth C5 Modular, I am getting quite a bit of wind buffeting. When I wear my...

Vinyl wrap on blinding chrome on TC fuel tank...

I've plastidipped an entire cruiser before including the fuel tank. One thing to be aware is that fuel will degrade/dissolve plastidip. I removed the plastidip 3 years later to sell the bike. Worked great.

Are you a one bike man?

I currently have 5 bikes and an e-"bike". I am fortunate enough to be able to own, maintain and ride multiple bikes so I do it. They all do different things. Of course there are overlaps. If I had to go down to one bike, it would be a mid or large adventure bike such as a R1250GS. For the...

    Hello from VA

Congratulations! I love Morton's. They go the extra mile to help! Been taking my bikes there for years. Weird clutch?

    Temp Display missing?

Yes, I was disappointed that it didn't have an engine temp gauge / display. Partially why I started that "Air cooled engine worries." thread. It's no big deal most of the time, but sometimes I wish I had it. That being said, I found that the clutch engagement point starts to change when the...

What's the jacket of choice for your R18?

I've been wearing a Dixxon flannel over my Knox Urbane Pro MK2 Shirt. Abrasion and impact resistance under the flannel that's just there for style. I haven't been wearing my Alpinestars Tech-Air 5 air bag vest on the R18. Throws off the style... LOL. Style > Safety apparently. I do have a few...

What malevolent sadist designed the Pure R18 FE seat?!?

The stock seat completes a look but it is not comfortable. Why they couldn't do both... idk, I have zero expertise in that matter. I also went with a Cross Country seat and I am very happy with it. I wish I could have kept the look of the stock seat but had to make the compromise.

    Air cooled engine worries.

A light came on that was a combination of an oil and temperature light. The clutch started to slip as well. The engagement point went farther and farther away from the grip. The bike is tuned. Both of these occurrences happened when the bike was stock... Thanks for that suggestion...

    Air cooled engine worries.

I'm finding that I am reluctant to ride my R18 at times due to the fear of getting stuck in traffic. Throughout my ownership of the bike so far, the bike has gotten hot enough to warn me to stop, twice. The first time it happened was while waiting in a long line to enter a national park. The...

    BMW, I wish.......

A few things come to mind for my R18 Base FE. I'll skip the ones mentioned already. I wish... ...toggling through the menu wasn't unidirectional. Sometimes I miss the display I want and have to "scroll" through the entire menu again. ...that the paint wasn't so flippin' soft. I got the bike...

    Price check on aisle 5

When you say without success, do you mean with a significant markdown? Because there are a lot of them around, just not with any markdown except for slight demo markdowns. Northern Virginia is such an expensive area that idk if you would be able to get a significant discount. I've seen dealers...

    Some more R18C thoughts:

I don't see why these bike actually need higher octane fuel. It has super low compression. That being said... I still use 93... lol!! *Mumble*Additives clean... cheap insurance... [insert more gooder excuses here :p]*/Mumble* I do wonder why they recommend 90...

    R18C as a first bike

I would also seriously consider continuing education/training. I'll be taking my 4th class/clinic of the year this weekend. There is merit in having someone else watch and instruct you compared to just trying to figure everything out yourself!

    R18C as a first bike

Imho, it depends on your goals. If your ultimate goal is to just ride the R18, starting on it and just learning that bike might be the way to go in terms of cost and time. Going through multiple bikes can be time consuming and costly. If your goal is to get into motorcycling as a hobby/sport...

    More R18s in Costa Rica!

I see what's going on, mine is a base model FE, one of the early ones. Apparently the suspension setting is different for mine vs the newer ones and the Classic. The following is from the manual for the Classic.

    More R18s in Costa Rica!

As I understand this, the farthest setting (lowest) is to the counterclockwise maximum. According to the second box on page 58, that's for a fully fueled bike with an 85kg rider. Again, as I understand it, there aren't any settings available for lower weight rider. I'm lighter than 85kg geared up.
