    Bagger owners, the winglets work!

My vlogs are seemingly for entertainment purposes even if not intentional :P I met an electrical engineer at a motorcycle event once and he said he thinks my videos are parody. I'm glad to entertain even if he was being a jerk. --- 6K miles since June was more than I expected to ride on it...

What did you do to your R18 today?

Perfect, thanks! I have oil filter cleaner & lubricant already so that's nice. I'll read more into it. I need to change my air filter on my R18 soon.

What did you do to your R18 today?

This is what you bought, Caveman? https://www.e-dnafilters.com/product/Motorcycle-Filters/Bmw/DNA-1757/BMW-R18/BMW-R18-(20-22)-DNA-Air-Filter-P-BM18CR20-01?source=w_dnafilter I don't see a service interval listed there. Just follow OEM service intervals which I thought were 6K. $100 every 6K...

Anyone running blind spot mirrors on the stock mirrors? Recommendations?

I'd like a pair of small blind spot mirrors I can stick on the stock ones. Nothing too large. maybe something that hangs below the stock mirrors and extends them but adds a blind spot mirror? The OEM mirrors are small and I'd like an elegant solution to save me from having to aggressively...

    Bagger owners, the winglets work!

I was fully prepared to experience buyer's remorse after spending $400 more dollars converting my bagger into a TransContinental. I think I'm out about $4,000 so far when all I had to do 6 months ago was to pay $2500 more for a TC over the bagger. Oh well, I'm dumb. The headshake above 55MPH on...

    Wimpy stock horn upgrade

I have a video comparing the two. I hate linking to my own videos here as it feels like self promotion but I"ll link it anyway. I personally can't tell the difference in the sound being louder than what my bagger came with. Then the sound bomb died after 6 weeks and Denali (typical of them) gave...

    Tires for the tubeless R18s

Thanks guys. I was really hoping for folks who have been touring on cruisers for a while could point me to what the definitive cruiser tire was for long miles but R18C has a good point, BMW is always picking weird sizes which will limit your options. My R18 Bagger is: 120/70 R 19 options on...

Anyone made a long-distance trip on an R18

That's how I feel about the GSA. it's like a wind bubble. I can ride without a helmet or with my visor up and it's completely air free. it's kind of crazy.

    R18 oil leak

Not yet. Oil looks pretty clear but since that's the side you'd put oil into the head, maybe some leaked down and blew back and dripped down at the end of this piece? Note, you can remove that entire piece on the side with a few Torx and if you're lucky, it's just over pour that flew back in the...

I want winglets on my bagger but I don't want to do any modifications

They work. I have no plan to change their orientation due to the headshake so if these make the air hitting me completely smooth, I'm going to keep them like this. They do touch the turn signals and may rattle against them. If that ends up being true, I'll maybe apply some sort of adhesive tape...

    Tires for the tubeless R18s

Anyone swapped their OEM tires yet? What did you go with and how do you like them? I'm looking for wet grip / longevity over cornering ability. I don't need a tire to dive in super aggressively, flatter with a good silica compound that fits the bagger / TC's tubeless wheels.

    Auxiliary LED Running Headlights Installation

This is the best looking base R18 on this site. I would love to add your bike to my garage. Gorgeous. Just love the style.

My new Vance & Hines slip-on exhaust are killer

Are these doing anything for performance or weight or is it just sound? Just curious. I don't want my r18 any louder or any vibration so I'm probably not target audience for these. Compared to $400 for winglets, $800 seems like a steal for exhaust :P

    Mirror vibrated the nut loose

the first R18 I rode was on the BMW demo truck. The nut fell off and the mirror fell off. The crew was pretty surprised but didn't seem phased.

Our 2021 BMW R-18 First Edition has Catastrophic Failure

No point really. They are never going to post here again. Their YT channel has one R18 video. I see this a lot of Reddit. People go to 50 sub-forums and post the same link to their YouTube channel and never comment or interact. Just trying to get views.

Our 2021 BMW R-18 First Edition has Catastrophic Failure

For context, this member joined just to post this and then never came back. They were last here the day they posted this. They’re not interested in having a dialogue. They’re here to get video views for themselves or their friend. I’d say we just report the post and have it removed. Nothing...

    Trailering

I have hauled mine in the truck and on an open trailer and on the R18 bagger, I used the lower fork mounts where the flashers are. Didn’t budget for a few thousand miles. I have the rear ratchet down as well but it’s really not needed. I just like having 4 straps instead of 2.

How many miles on your R18?

I’ll hit 6,000 very soon but it’s cold so I’m riding the GS more for the wind protection at the moment.
