Sounds like a different thing. My fuel pump whine definitely did not alter as a function of rpm or clutch engagement. The software update completely eliminated it. While your issue may be common, I don't think it's "normal". My bike definitely doesn't do that.

I have a '21 and I had a software update. Don't think it affected the tune at all, but it did fix the fuel pump whine. So, there is indeed a software update out there that they'll do for free.

Unless BMW goes out of business and stops providing parts, why is it a problem if they stop producing the R18? They only made the R90S for three years, and if anything that just added to the mystique. Not that that's important, but I doubt that there will be a parts shortage in any case.

14V is what comes out of the bike's charging system. The battery tender charges at 12. The battery by itself will never output more than 12V +/-.

Interesting. They went to the trouble to customize this thing, but kept with the stock C pipes. I'd have thought that something not quite as long would have been more appropriate for this build.
