    GoPro Mount

It works well! But the "bikini" front fender is a pain in the arse! Even the smallest wet spot on the road spatters the front of the bike with crud and that includes the GoPro.

    GoPro Mount

A couple years ago I made a mount that places my GoPro camera below the headlight of my Indian Roadmaster. Having the camera centered, above the fender nets some really cool video, as the bike leans through the turns. It worked out so well that I NEEDED to make one for my R18. And the R18 has...

    Does yours look like this

With the fasteners tightened, there should still always be a gap there.

    Exhaust Systems

Sorry. I should have been more clear... I was asking if you will be riding between the cars (splitting lanes in the USA) with the R18, because the cylinders stick out so far. When I was working in Geneva, all of the motorcycles would run up between the cars at every traffic light and sit at the...

    R18 Car engine oil

Apparently we're not the only ones that scratch our heads over BMW's gear oil specifications. https://www.bmwsporttouring.com/topic/98309-70w-80-hypoid-axle-g3/

    R18 Car engine oil

Officially, for BOTH, it's supposed to be SAE 70W-80 Hypoid G3. Now try to find that precise gear oil anyplace outside of a BMW dealer.

    Reverse shift lever mod?

I knew a few riders who put hand shifters on their Indians. Not something I find interesting. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I've never had a use for heel shifters since 1971, when my first motorcycle, a Bridgestone, had rotary shifting with toe & heel. My Road Star had one that...

    Hexcode GS-911 Status on R18's

Absolutely! It's a shame that it doesn't work with Indians too.

Will you be splitting lanes with the R18? Those big jugs are GNARLY!

    Hexcode GS-911 Status on R18's

I have a GS-911 USB on order and the first thing that I plan on doing is resetting service indicators and a "fault" indicator that's bitching about the lights, which are all operating properly. According to the web site, it does that and more. https://www.hexinnovate.com/hex-gs-911/ Amazon has...

    R18 Car engine oil

It had to happen. Some of the posts may even be useful. Some are just plain incoherent.

    Insurance vignette holder.

In the USA each state sets the requirements for vehicle registration, safety or emissions inspection and/or insurance. But we don't have to carry it ON THE OUTSIDE of the bike. If a cop wants to see the documentation, we have to show it, but most of us carry it someplace secure and out of sight.

    R18 Car engine oil

Mary Ann, but with Ginger as a standby. Lilly Munster or Natasha Addams?

    Insurance vignette holder.

You guys have to keep some sort of documents available on the outside of the bike? WTF?!

    DK Designs Front Fender Video

Cool! It's always good hearing from a rider who's got the "goods". And it sounds like some real engineering was used in the design of the fender. It seems to me that the last thing that should put to rest concerns of longevity would be if someone were to watch the fender's movement or lack...

    Hexcode GS-911 Status on R18's

The day after I ordered a GS-911 on Amazon for $400 they're posted for $300! It says there are 5 in stock. Those who want one should strike while the iron's hot!! https://www.amazon.com/GS-911-OBD-II-Enthusiast-Version-2017/dp/B0799CYBLL/ref=psdc_15707381_t2_B01MXDLAGN

What did you do to your R18 today?

The front engine cover is really cool looking as garage art. You should put some polished buttonhead screws on the mounting holes to finish it off. Hmmmm... I have a couple of Indian Thunder Stroke rocker covers in a box... Do you mind if I plagiarize your idea?

    Greetings from Atlanta, GA

Hey Submariner & Boxerfan! If you guys make it to Wooly's R18 Demo Days in Marietta on Saturday, keep an eye out for a lady with purple hair, quite short in the back. Her name is Kerry and she's the BMW Motorrad Rep. for our area. Say Hi! She's very nice, quite knowledgeable and a serious rider...

    DK Designs Front Fender Video

I agree with you and TodkaVonic in so far as appearance. Those big heads and cylinders are sooooo pretty. But they're also very vulnerable if things go horizontal when they should stay vertical and vise versa. That's also why I went with the black bars. I'm thinking that they won't detract from...
