    Hello from Northern Virginia, USA

Morton's BMW in Fredericksburg Virginia. There is one closer but I like to stick to one dealer, particularly because Morton's treats me well and takes care of my bikes well. Highly recommend. The first service was 269.06 + tax. They have a loyalty program so ended up paying around 200.

    Hello from Northern Virginia, USA

Thank you! I'm actually at my dealership for the first service right now. A couple are getting theirs, one each, delivered! Great to see a lot of interest in this bike. Pretty cool. I hope you get yours soon!

    BMW luggage for R18

Very cool! Please post some pictures when you get a chance! Do they come off easily when not in use? I seem to remember that the mounting system allows a clean look even when the bags are off. I myself ordered the right (Tool Cover) bag myself. I'll post up some pictures once I have it.

BMW R18 Turns Signal Auto Cancelling Logic

This is from the manual. I've seen a few riding videos in which the rider was having trouble with the turn signal self cancelling. When the turn signal button is pressed to the right or left, the turn indicators automatically turn off under the following conditions: Speed is under 18 mph (30...

Setting the proper preload for the rear suspension

Thank you for making the chart! I was just reading about this in the manual. It appears that I have the opposite "problem". I am 75kg / 165lb with gear on. I'm out of the range of adjustment possible for the bike. I do like a stiff suspension and as the bike doesn't get pushed to it's limits...

    Another First Impressions

I'm up to 594 miles and I would say only around 5-10% was in Rock mode. It's quite a contrast from Roll. Which surprised me greatly. Most noticeable difference is the throttle response. In Rock, the bike responds instantly and rapidly to input, right from throttle opening. In Roll, it almost...

    Another First Impressions

Since taking delivery, I've put on a few hundred miles and I have some first impressions. I don't have much to compare the R18 to, as a cruiser, except to my old 2005 Suzuki Boulevard M50 which was my first bike. So this will be more of a stand alone first impressions with a few comparisons to...

R18 Delivered Thursday Night (8 Oct)

Congrats on the bike! The seat should become more comfortable as it breaks in. From my recent memories, I can remember that my R1250GS seat had a constant pressure point for the first couple of thousand miles. Then it was gone. As for the left foot, I found that if I slide my foot too far...

    Hello from Northern Virginia, USA

Hi all, I preordered the bike the hour it became available! I knew I had to have one the moment I saw it. I picked up my R18 a few weeks ago.. It's a beauty but also the heaviest bike I've ever owned. This is my 5th BMW. I'm usually the one farkling out bikes and pushing my limits with them...
