My new R18TC, First ride impressions.....

No problems other than the indicator switch at times seemed to freeze. That is it seemed to refuse to move across left or right. My dealer replaced it. Everything else has worked as it should. Based in the UK.

My new R18TC, First ride impressions.....

I have found those vibes seem to have disappeared as the miles increased. My R18C has over 10,000 miles on it but smoothed out a lot around 6,000 miles.

    Engine/crash bars

Recently had BMW crashbars on mine. So far pleased but untested in anger if you follow my meaning.

Looking for a picture of Wunderlich backrest with the Mustang Weekender seat

I am just hoping that the Roadstyler backrest and carrier as shown above will fit on my R18C . The Corbin seat is a little wider than the original seat but looking at the photo might well fit.

Looking for a picture of Wunderlich backrest with the Mustang Weekender seat

I like that Road Styler. Both the backrest and the luggage rack look Ideal for touring. I am running a R18C with a Corbin twin seat.

    Fuel Economy ???

I assume these are the smaller US gallons . I have found my R18 gives very good mpg (UK) but I don't do a lot of city riding. 58 to 62 mpg is common but before it was run in it was a lot more thirsty. After 1500 miles I was amazed at the economy riding at 70 to 80mph on major roads. The onboard...

    Rhodri from Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 UK

Welcome from Lancashire UK. Mine is a R18C and I think the exhaust is a little more throaty than the fishtails . One problem I have found with louder exhausts is the sound of one going down the road can be music to the ears. Riding the same bike can however sound less pleasant when you are on it...

    And the cold/snow continues...

That depends on where in the world you are and perhaps what weather you are willing to ride in. Somewhere somebody is thinking it is too hot. I write this on a wet windy chilly day wishing it was different in Lancashire UK..

R18B Front Fender on a Classic

R18B front mudguard fitted to my R18C today. Looks much better but more importantly it is functional. Riding this afternoon on some wet back lanes the bike and myself were not covered in muck. Good result. The mudguard was on the bike within a week of being ordered.

I have taken the plunge today and ordered the front mudguard as fitted to the R18B for my R18C. Thank you for sharing the photo of yours fitted .

    Front wheel tools?

The handbook is not of the quality produced by BMW in the past. Jobs at this level would have been completed using the standard toolkit. A list of the spanner sizes needed would be given for each task. A sign of the times we live in. BMW /5, /6 and /7 owners will know where I am coming from.

R18B Front Fender on a Classic

I am seriously thinking of going down this route but I have never seen an R18B. Is it the same as on the Transcontinental or is it a little longer ?.

    Seat Swap

The Corbin as mentioned above makes distance riding a delight. Transforms the bike.
