There was a lockable version of the RSD fuel cap advertised and I have had it on order for some time now. Interestingly I can't seem to find it on BMW's website anymore as easily. But its still there if you look hard enough...
Had to pester my dealer a bit to get an update. Apparently their was an issue getting the drive released from Germany. Its now expected to be at the dealer by the end of the month. Quite a bit longer than originally expected. I am still unsure what this "issue" actually was.
Hope others dont...
Would love to hear some opinions from the forum on these videos. Seems like good info to me.
1. Engine Oil and Filter Service
2. Transmission Oil Change
3. Final Drive Oil Change
I, too, recently installed the Wunderlich pedals. Mine are the black ones. My one complaint, if you can call it that, is that my left boot heel now seems to hit the kickstand. But I really like the pedal feeling over the pegs. So its a good trade-off from my perspective.
As others have...
Dealer told me there are 3 in stock but they are all in Germany. So the dealer estimates about two weeks at a minimum.
I guess one nice thing is the dealer on their own accord noticed there are two color choices (black and grey). My bike came stock with the grey but I most certainly would...
Dealer just informed me the final drive on my R18 needs to be replaced. Bike has never been dropped and is otherwise pristine. Issue was discovered while the dealer was performing the 600 mile initial service. I will try to get more details, but it sounds like when they were changing the fluid a...
Installed the Freedom pipes today. MUCH better sound than the stock mufflers, and sounds like a proper 1800cc should imho.
Couple notes on the install:
- As others have said, no instructions with the kit. But there is a set of instructions someone else posted online (I am including them here)...
Do any of the parts have a link to BMW's website to illustrate their installation? Most all of the parts I have gotten from BMW do. Its kinda annoying imho.
You can see it installed on mine in the other thread- https://www.r18forums.com/threads/what-did-you-do-to-your-r18-today.97/post-10541

It still makes me wonder if the existing switch would work. On my bike that button is simply doesn't have the mark identifying it as an auxiliary light switch. But there is clearly tactile feedback as if its indeed a button that doesn't do anything because its not hooked up to anything.
Stock...
I can confirm these are generally available in the US now. The most expensive part is the switch enzo mentioned. There are two types, one for bikes equipped with cruise control, and the other for those without. As mine has cruise control the BMW part number I needed is 61319467931. What I don't...
Can also confirm I received those same plastic things with other BMW OEM parts. I believe these are to attach to the box the parts come into somehow to hang on a display rack.
Some photos that highlight a few recent changes.
1. RSD Wheels. These are tubeless (stock wheels used tubes). What I did not realize was the fact that you also need to order valve stems in addition to the wheels (they were not included with mine).
2. Masked windshield with black mounting...
