I had bad experiences with Ever start and Moto Batt in my Victory. Moto Batt Was bad in less than 8 months.
Ended up going with Yuasa. They tend to be expensive but they are made well and last a long time. Given the importance of a battery on big twin bikes, I'll never own anything else.
Yuasa...
I thought the DIN outlets on the BMW were turned off when the bike was off. I'd try removing the USB charger. I know the charger in my car stays energized as long as the socket is hot.
Most likely a bad battery.
I've never run a car tire on any of my bikes. I can't understand the logic in doing this unless you're trapped in some dystopian wasteland where you had no choice.
Not usually. I use the phone pocket on the bike or keep it in the front of my jacket. It's only done a mid ride disconnect once. Most issues I have involved a hosed up initial connection. How it's hosed up is sometimes not apparent until you're headed down the road.
I have a trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway coming up this weekend. Other than music, it's going to be TFT free.
While the BMW nav has many settings, it's never been very reliable. It once told me to make an immediate right turn on bridge. Google and Waze have always been dead nuts accurate on the...
I guess I'm just getting frustrated with the performance of the technology overall. It has become a real distraction while riding.
The BMW navigation is terrible.
It is due for its first year service next month. Maybe the software will be updated then.
I guess I'm just going to start using the...
...not really, but if I could have reached my gun I'd have put one through it!!!
Went to ride yesterday and the Connect app half-ass connected to the bike. It started spouting navigation instructions to God knows where and would not allow me access to the nav screen to turn it off because it...
It suffers from the same affliction all small motorcycles do when I ride them. I'm a big guy. I look like a bear on a tricycle. I don't care how cool all these little bikes are, there's just no future in that look.
Ride out this afternoon in +89 degf and 67% humidity. Jacket air flows well and temperature was tolerable but still sweating my nuts off.
Jacket fit is slightly big, but I don't think downsizing would have worked well.
I think it was a good buy and would only be better if it came with a/c built in.
I used Galfer brake lines on a Kawasaki restoration I did a few years ago. They were excellent quality.
Curious...what are you doing to your R18 that would need them?
Today I put Loctite blue on my accessory screws and bolts. Almost lost a mirror at Myrtle Beach. I really think it was loosened up by some asshat in a parking lot, but added the thread locker just to be sure.
Also, got my new trunk bag from TXBrit! Love it!
I've recently completed an all day ride on my 23 TC. The bike held up great despite
a lying tire pressure sensor that forced a stop.
The factory seat isn't so good but is tolerable with a gel pad and liberal application of monkey butt powder.
Wind protection is often too good. I was wishing for...
I know the R18 uses CAN bus technology. I know some accessory power and control needs to go through a CAN bus controller. Need more input from someone who has actually added lights.
