Ordered 4l. Motul, OEM oil filter, filter thingamy tool, rear brake pads. Sports air filter was already in. Actually looking forward to adjusting the valves. Not so much to removing the valve covers and the spark plugs. Very satisfying that buying even the best oil and OEM parts it still stays...

a crucial thing with the LiFePO4 batteries is that the case is just an extra beauty case. The real batteries are already self containing cells. As such you can fille off critical edges if needed. And @BAD MIKE looking forward to reading your experience.

I don´t follow your train of thought. You had already decided to move on or is the resale value reason to move on? Imo it is a case of the motorcycle market going through a generational change. The market for the old style big bikes is literally dying out. Simple as that imo.

Seems counterintuitive to switch off the bike when still moving. Even more so using the emergency button. I put it in neutral and push the black on/off power button. Always, anywhere so also riding it into the garage. The only thing I very occasionally do on the roll before stopping is going...

As I understand, per m.y. 2025 is Euro5+. Before is Euro5. Ofcourse the R18 was desígned to be able to meet 5+ just did not need to be silenced to that level untill it became effective. It is nothing R18 nor BMW specific ofcourse. Applies to Royal Efields or Vespas too p.e. Over here in the EU...

Because EURO emission levels including sound are published wáy in advancce BMW designed the R18 to meet the 2025 Euro5+ norms. Hence p.e. the extreme intake noise damping, the double valve covers and not least the electronically managed exhaust baffels. Euro5 models are just that bit more...
