Not for me ... looks too much like a car tire tread and unless you're planning on riding in lots of rain I don't see the point of all of those blocks but I understand there are other POV's as well.
Might just be a factory variance but you can easily loosen up the collar holding the pipe to the header and see if you can adjust it further out (and/or maybe the other side further in).
I can't help with your question but I can suggest something I've been doing for a while and that's to ask for a picture of the part you want with a piece of paper on it with your member name and the date on it (or some other text you choose).
That way you know he's got the part and it's not...

I've heard that. Benefit up here is we have some great twisty roads (I've been impressed with how the R18 handles them too) but riding season is about 6 months only.
Now where's a place where you get both good weather and good roads?? California?
You can bet that the design and pre-manufacturing work was done in Germany for those Wunderlich pegs. The Chinese then just buy a set and easily copy them. It's what they've been doing forever.
The Wunderlich pegs it says on the ad are made by hand in Germany and for sure their labour is more...
