New Tire recommendations

my friend rides iron butt on a Harley.he swear by Michelin commanders he get 22,000 miles on a set.made for heavy bikes.they were standard on my tc.time will tell.
I was a Metzler die hard for year doing a tire check my set were made in Brazil I bought because of German quality's from then on I looked at what was good.
heidenau is the last German company making moto tires in Germany.can never find them in use they advertise but when you try to order there on back order.

Yes they do, that's why I went for the Dragons, the Cruisetecs were not available and also an extra $100 per tyre.

Come to Aus, you or your mate can have my slightly used Commanders for free

My R18B came with Michelin Commander III tires. The bike handled fine with them but the front tire made so mush noise (howled) on certain types of blacktop that I decided to change it before taking a 2600 mile trip a few weeks ago. I could not see myself listening to the noise from the front tire for that long. I Changed to a Metzeler 888 Ultra Marathon front tire and it is quiet and handles well. Doubt I will buy another Michelin Commander tire. While investigating the tire noise I found out that a lot of the Commander III tires were known to make noise and vibration on many different bikes.

I know we aren't talking about going to the darkside here, but there are some interesting notes regarding the thought and engineering that goes into how manufacturers pair tires to their bike.

I keep it simple.. I shoot for Black, Round, Reasonable Priced from a quality brand name; once I find a brand that I like, I stick with it until they let me down and I repeat the above process..

I only got hooked on METZLERS, due to service technician recommending them to me, when I needed tires for my GS Adventure six years ago.

Here I am, still using METZLERS on a completely different type of tire, for a totally different type of bike and road surface...
