Reverse/Backup Light and Beeper?

'Reverse Envy' is that a thing? :LOL: ... tbh ... I thought the reverse was a gimmick ... but now I have to admit, it has gotten me out of some idiotic situations (completely self inflicted, serious operator error) and I really like having it! ... and don't get me started with getting Uschi in and specifically out of a wheel chock!!!! So easy ...

... this said, I will pass on the: beep ... beep ... beep thing ;)

The Reverse function in itself, draws enough attention on its own; I don't think anyone needs the "beep-beep-beep" audible sound, to add additional attention..

Don't get me started on the idea of a BACK-UP light... WTF...!!!
 
I already pull into parking spaces I never would have without reverse just to show off. A beeper, very loud or not could be cool. Same with a backup light. Certain brands do look down their nose at BMW's. Their rides are twice the price, lower quality and no reverse! BMW R18 L+.jpg
 
SL, I'm with Bad Mike. I've parked the Transcontinental behemoth in some great parking spots, including on the verandah of the pub in Boorowa out of the rain, just because I could back out in reverse. Also got cocky, "misjudged"', and angle parked on a heavily cambered street. Scared the living daylights out of myself trying to weight lift the TC down onto the side stand. Then had to fossick around looking for an appropriately flat stone to pop under the side stand while holding Brynhildr up. My wife, who I was meeting for lunch, thought it was hilarious and sent a video to her sister. Good thing, if there was one in that particular debacle, was that I could reverse out back up the camber.

Yep, I have one on my TC - the Hornig version: https://www.motorcycleparts-hornig....Steel/Shift-lever-extension-reverse-gear.html. In my opinion, its not completely useless bling. Makes reaching down for the reverse lever much easier and has no real downside, as far as I can tell. It was easy to fit and adjust too. If you're a frequent flyer on the reverse gear then it rates up there (probably on a par with performance plates). There seem to be a few versions around - Hornig, Wunderlich, and a bunch of other knock offs. I'm waiting for some enerprising soul to make a tasteful chrome (or copper, for that matter) version with a BMW roundel on the top and "luftgekühlt" or "Berlin" or something machined into the side ... they'll make millions ;)
