R18 Transcontinental
Been a Biker for over 50 years and 35 of them on Beemers. From the R's to the K's did my adventures from
the Dempster to the Copper canyon. I recently went for the R18 Trans, after some riding noticed some buffering, I heard so much about the Klocks windshield and went for it. Unfortunately is was a mistake. Installed it went for a ride and changed it back right aways. It was much worse than the OEM. I must be have a wrong torso high to get the advantage of that windscreen. Now I have a $600 windshield, and can't sent it back. Anybody want it? I sell it cheep.

Most of the buffeting will come from down below ... search the forum ... there are options for the TC to relief that issue ... for the FE and the Classic it is the Memphis Shades option and I believe on the TC it is the 'Winglets' ... give that a whirl ...

Welcome to the forum. I recently picked up my R18B and was looking at the same windshield. Which one did you get? The 14.5"
I heard the stock windshield on the TC is pretty good.

Hello www,
welcome to the forum amd congrats on your TC. Your bike has the winglets from factory and should help with buffering if they are deployed. I have the model B which has a shorter windshield and no winglets. I installed a pair I bought on eBay (not OEM) and the difference is 90% reduction in turbulence. I agree that rider’s height will play a significant role here. I am 1.76 tall.

The winglet are one of the features on the bike that I specifically thought out. The have installed the winglets on my GS's, K1200 LT's as well as my K 1600 GLT. Being a fair weather rider they are a must for me. Like I mentioned I found the OEM windshield the better of the two.

Welcome. I am just south in Cowtown; have the '21 Classic FE for pleasure riding on warm days. I like it very much.
