Lloydw1 thanks for these pictures. I want to order a Day-Long seat for my Transcontinental and I was considering the stitching pattern and material. I think I'll go for the leather covering and I like the half moon pattern on your seat.

Compensation, the way I understand it, is for the inconvenience of getting the reverser disabled but they should implement the fix once it's available.
I had my reverse disabled today at the dealer and on the invoice indicating it was done were also the two parts I ordered in compensation. It lists the part numbers, quantity and description. Under price for both it says "WARRANTY" and the total due is $0.00. If you're interested I ordered...
It's already in the notification from BMW. $1000.00 of R18 accessories. My dealer asked his BMW rep and that offer doesn't include non-R18 accessories like helmets or jackets. Also the US offer doesn't include an option to get an extended service contract. I had them ask BMW about that one too.
I ended up using the $1,000 credit to order the Roland Sands machined mirrors which are a little over $500 and the LED mini flashing turn indicator, front - Part Number 77512469302 ($482) for my Transcontinental.
I spoke with my dealer today and their rep said BMW would not substitute the offer of $1,000 of R18 specific parts for non-R18 BMW items like coats, helmets, warranty extension etc. I have a factory blacked out R18 Transcontinental, so I'm not sure what else I could get for it that's worth...
Agreed. While it’s obvious, my reasoning for writing it down is that with the fork dive I was experiencing because the rear brakes seemed to be too loosely set from the factory, it was easy to get the bars twisted to one side during a hard stop. 940lbs has to go somewhere, usually not where you...
My impression was that the dealer thought they’re probably going to come up with a fix and implement it, but they don’t have anything definite right now. I never use reverse so I honestly don’t care all that much. If the ability to use reverse causes some damage to the bike or could injure me, I...
Hello,
I have a R18 Transcontinental. My previous bike was an R18 Classic. I’ve been finding it hard to get the transcontinental to stop smoothly. At 940lbs I found it can be a handful at slow speeds and I have a tendency to get front end dive when stopping. I wanted to give a quick list of...
So Saturday September 28th, I stopped in and spoke to my BMW service department to ask about a separate issue and about this recall. I’m located in Massachusetts. They said they found out about the recall that day and they had the sheets describing it in front of me, though I didn’t read it...
Hi Nefiawy,
I would love to go, but I have some prior commitments that day because of the holiday weekend. I would love to join you the next time you meet if possible, so please keep me in mind and let me know. It looks like about an hour drive from my location, so it’s not that bad and I’m...
I live in Holden Massachusetts, which is in the center of the state. I bought a Transcontinental last summer so my fiancé of 7 1/2 years and I could ride together. I managed to tear ligaments in my wrist after owning it a week (It was going over at a standstill and I caught it. Dumb move.) so...
Try “PURCHASE15” for 15% off. It’s old but it might still be valid. Also I think they send you a discount code if you sign up for their emails. I’ve used their indoor covers on my R18 Classic and now on my TC and they’ve worked well for me. Good luck.
