Thanks for confirming my suspicion. I thought as much. Just wondering why it started to manifest. Perhaps a little too much/little oil during the last oil change to hit that sweet spot for the resonant frequency to take hold :)

Both my wife's and my R18 shows traces of grease at the bottom of steering column. Is this normal? If not, are there any remedies? Sent an email to BMW Motorrad Germany and received a reply saying a the relevant department will contact me ASAP.
