Thanks for that summary - much appreciated.
If I pursue option 2., Do the servo Buddies plug into the harness and the servo motor for a complete circuit, or just the harness and servo buddy becomes the "end-point"?
Also, Since you've done this - in your opinion, do you feel I'll get the sound...
I'm confused!
For context, I have a 2021 R18 FE - No mods.
I'd like to get a little more sounds from the standard fish-tail exhaust - I like the sounds it makes when I'm "pushing it", but it's very quiet under normal riding. If I could get the "pushing it" sound all the time, I'd be happy.
I've...
Thank you - that's good insight.
Is this the kind of design you're thinking - if you look at the installation instructions, it shows it best.

Apologies in advance for revisiting this topic, but it's been a while since there's been anything on it and as I'm currently looking, I thought it worthwhile to get any new feedback based on folks experiences - good, bad or otherwise.
There's a wide cross-section of alternatives in brand...
I tried this and it worked like magic - It seems that, whatever the mechanical setup is, on my bike (others may be different), if there's any "load" on the reverse gear, it's nearly impossible to release. If I roll it forward, after using it, thereby taking the load off, it works ever time, with...
Where I live - In the land of Oz, it's a much smaller market then either the USA or the UK, and the use of motorcycles is a small subset of that.
As a result, R18's are a rare sight on the road - and I like that - I like that it's not "just another motorcycle".
I didn't buy it for anyone else...
I have 2 kids and 5 Grand Children (All under 6YO) - Guilty As Charged, Your Honour.
I'm 65YO and this is my first attempt at being a "grown-up" - so far, so good.
Both my kids and Grand Kids think the R18 is the coolest thing on the planet - that's because they've all been raised well, and as...

Thanks for the tip - I'll give that a try next time I take the bike out.
It appears that this "issue" varies from bike to bike and is circumstance specific.
I guess that means it's a trial & error process, for each of us, to find a remedy - That doesn't sound like the precision engineering...
I've looked at other threads on this topic, but haven't seen this aspect.
For context, my R18 is an FE with <3000Kms.
From new, it's been hard to get in and out of reverse gear - to solve it involves rocking the bike back & forth and continuing to push or lift the lever.
I was hoping that it...
Apologies for dredging up this thread - - but I think I'm getting close to a solution.
I've found a charger that'll do what I want - all I need now is to find a way to connect it to the R18FE.
The charger manufacturer doesn't make a Hella plug output connector.
BUT, I can get an output...
That's been my experience also.
It a "weekend princess" and while it's never failed completely, if I ride it on a Saturday and then not until the following Sunday (a week and a day), I notice that it sounds hesitant.
I've had the battery checked by the dealer (I've only had the bike 3 months...
