Can anyone tell me how they went about removing the tank badges?
Mine seem to be attached pretty securely.

I watched that video and I can tell you mine are attached much more securely than what he shows. I attempted using the same nylon pry tool and they didn’t budge. The video is called BMW R18 Time Period Correct Roundel
Got a picture…oh wait. Lol. They come off. One needs to be brave.I watched that video and I can tell you mine are attached much more securely than what he shows. I attempted using the same nylon pry tool and they didn’t budge.
I’ll soak them with Goo Gone before I attempt to remove them.Got a picture…oh wait. Lol. They come off. One needs to be brave.
I suspect you know this, but just in case you don’t…Be careful, goo gone, and especially goof off can eat through any painted surface easily.I’ll soak them with Goo Gone before I attempt to remove them.
The stuff I use is citrus based and won’t harm painted surfaces. I’ve been using it for years without a single issue.I suspect you know this, but just in case you don’t…Be careful, goo gone, and especially goof off can eat through any painted surface easily.
Mine were off in 29 seconds or less.I guess every bike is different. My badges were off in 30 seconds or less.
Maybe try a bit of gentle heat, wife’s hair dryer……The stuff I use is citrus based and won’t harm painted surfaces. I’ve been using it for years without a single issue.
Exactly the advice I came to drop! Took out the screws, wedged the pick in there and “pop”. Easy enough.Try a guitar pick or something like that, and try sticking it under the edge in a few places, they should pop off then ... it is the rubber behind the roundel that may be sticking to it .. mine were a little stuck as well when I switched from chrome to copper ...
