You won’t find them. These models are only available from BMW dealers as they are BMW branded, but Mustang is the OEM.Thank you. I am going to look into these through my neighborhood Mustang dealer.
Do you still have your Weekender?Selling my Weekender as I “upgraded” to a Russell Day-long. The weekender is years beyond stock in terms of comfort but RDL is light years ahead of everything else as far comfort is concerned. Bike is a 22 Classic.
Yes I do.Do you still have your Weekender?
it may work but its like wearing a condomNow that looks like a Kotex on a Kangaroo.
I have the weekender, but I just use it solo. The cap over the rear screw of the OEM pillion I moved forward to the rear screw of the rider’s seat. I had no issues with it fitting.Um.. does the Day Rider set come with instructions?
I don't know if I'm supposed to use the stock bolt in between seats? Expected this to be an easy install but the gap between the metal mounts from the pillion seat and the mudguard holes is huge, exceeding the length of the stock bolt?
Are there any spacers that I am not aware of? or are these metal tabs to be bent to get them closer to the mounting holes?

Well I got a Mustang seat thrown in with the purchase of my 2023 R18C...just not sure if it's the Day Rider or Weekender without seeing pics of both? Either way it's much more comfortable than the stock seat for sure.I just got off the phone with Trish at Mustang seats and she gave me a bit of a primer on the offerings by BMW on the seats that are OEM'd by Mustang. As we all know the dealers have little to no information on the seats, so we are left to either buying them blind and hoping that they will be what we want. To me, I am looking for a better seat that doesn't have the requirement of the pillion part.
"Day Rider Seat" - This is a two-piece seat that can be installed with just the front or the front and rear. It gives the option of a backrest for the rider and comes in Black or Brown. It has slightly more padding then the stock seat and is a more retro style. Seat Height - 27.4"
"The Weekender Seat" - This is a two-piece seat that can be installed with just the front or the front and rear. It gives the option of a backrest for the rider and comes in Black or Brown. It is taller and wider than the "Day Rider Seat" and has more padding and smooth leather. Seat Height 27.4"
"The Cross Country Seat" - This is a one-piece design. It gives the option of a backrest for the rider and comes in Black or Brown. It is taller and wider than the "The Weekender Seat" and has even more padding and smooth leather. Seat Height 27.7"
Definitely comes with the strap as well, I’m guessing you bought used?Yeah I don't think the Day Rider comes with the strap but I can see the spacer in pic 4 which makes sense and I haven't got it..
Thanks!
I have to agree with you on this. I purchased a BMW/Mustang seat (the one-piece design), and found it only slightly better than the stock seat. For my last trip, a total of 1500 miles I added a seat like the Airhawk and had absolutely no problem. I removed it for one day, and after a few hours of riding I could feel some numbing on pressurepoints. Honesty I think the stock seat and AirHawk (or similar) will be good enough for rides of any duration. The stock seat is the best fit for the R18's stance, IMHO. I ride mine solo, and I do not find the stock seat too hard on short trips, say two hours maximum in the saddle. I use my AirHawk®, which I share with several other bikes, for longer rides. Just unhook it when you are done, and it is no harder on the seat surface than a pair of jeans would be. I have not found a custom seat that beats an Airhawk® on comfort - again, that's me. I have two larger AirHawk®'s for my wife and me that we use when we tour with the Goldwing or Chief Vintage.
