    Jump Start

Yes it would work. An optimate will work as a tender by utilising the existing DIN sockets.

    Found another 12v spare plug.

I was fitting switched servo eliminators today (a PITA without a table lift) and just in front of the left exhaust servo is a plug with a blanking socket fitted to it cable tied to the servo cables..

    BMW R20 Concept

I don't, when he came on board at the end of last year, in one interview I read he mentioned that he did not see that BMW had a need to compete with the already established American cruiser market. The R12 came out a couple of months later.

    BMW R20 Concept

With the current CEO being vocal about his disapproval of the R18 range and low sales combined with the headlight fiasco, brace yourself for the R18 going the same ways as the R12C. It's a definite possibility.

    Summer Gear

A friend came off at 30mph wearing denim jeans and jacket. He lost 1/16th inch of skin in a very short slide. He was in agony. It was a really hot year here and despite that I started started wearing full leathers (it was the early 90s) and about a week later I came off at 60mph in a long slide...

My $23,000 Boat Anchor thanks BMW

We are comparing apples and pears here, but in the UK my dealer supported my claim for corrosion on my 4 year old RT and Motorrad were fighting it hard. The Used Motorrad warranty in the UK is next to useless and more or less relies on the dealer, with so many exclusions it was unreal to read. I...

Kern Stabi X518 lift and rear bag protection bars

So, the official line is to shorten the part of the handle that fits into the lift "trolley". Angle grinder to the rescue then!

Does DIY maintenance void the warranty?

I highly doubt that a non qualified home mechanic will be able to maintain the warranty. Here in the UK and the EU the mechanic must be trading as a mechanic/garage and be registered to pay business tax called VAT.

Kern Stabi X518 lift and rear bag protection bars

That a possible non-engineering solution. Yes I think the top of the handle would need another 2" of movement to "flip" the stand onto wheels safely. Fabricating a new handle (well, having on done) or perhaps more favourably an adapter made might be feasible. Kern Stabi replied and rather...

My $23,000 Boat Anchor thanks BMW

This is a complete horror story. This is only my 2nd BMW, I'm not a BMWphile and can say with certainty that this isn't the best bike that I've ever had, but it is the one that makes me grin the most.
