    Headlight Recall

The BMW dealer knew about it. They’re just playing dumb to take the pressure off themselves. And FYI - Harley has recalls all the time, so it’s not like you magically get everything perfect switching manufacturers. What folks need to do though, is track & document the moment your bike becomes...

    Irregular idling speeds?

    TC / Bagger phone plug?

I am not on an R18 site to battle about whether one should or should not use a phone case. To each their own. The problem is - BMW did not consider the "to each their own" philosophy here. They made their original design overly complex and way too restrictive. As a significant number of...

    TC / Bagger phone plug?

I found the connector, but have been documenting most of my stuff over in this thread.

Wireless Phone Charger Project R18 B / TC

I have found the male connector that will connect to the oem plug in there. First - the bike side plug is a BMW 7543312-02 - it is very common, used all over BMW parts. It is also a Mercedes & VWAG part. The hard part was the charger side plug, but it is often a "fuel injector sensor"...

Wireless Phone Charger Project R18 B / TC

Yeah, I have ideas for other designs too. My first one may be to keep it simple like it is but add a pocket underneath or something to stash goodies. I chose to go wired instead of wireless because wireless charging generates so much more heat. I have holes and grooves in this design to allow...

Wireless Phone Charger Project R18 B / TC

Hmm, that is an interesting prospect. Although vibration should be much less of a concern if the phone is not "clamped" in to something as a portion of the shock is lost just in the ability of the phone to wiggle freely of what it is sitting on. But I may noodle on that a little. Maybe a thin...

Anyone tinted their Aux driving lights

Lamin-X. I took the bezel off, you could do it without - but I think it would look crappy. The bezels hide the outer ring of the laminate well. https://lamin-x.com/bmw-r18-transcontinental-2021-headlight-covers.html

Wireless Phone Charger Project R18 B / TC

That one is just "PLA+" so it definitely won't handle any significant heat. It's probably only good to like 100 degrees or so at best (inside the cubby). So after I play around with it a bit I am planning on getting one printed with heat resistant ABS or nylon.

Anyone tinted their Aux driving lights

Yes. I don't have a "running" picture but it makes them *way* more noticeable. My riding partner said they were way better and I confirmed, when we swapped bikes for a bit.

Vinyl wrap on blinding chrome on TC fuel tank...

My wife has a design for a vinyl decal that she made me that I am going to try on the fuel tank flap part, its not a complete wrap but just a decal with a cool design, and I am hoping that it will block enough of the surface area to make it not as quite as much as a 6 inch square mirror on the...

Wireless Phone Charger Project R18 B / TC

I am still working on finding specific connectors for the charger side of the wiring. The bike side uses a common BMW plug that is easy to find, but the connector for the charger side is harder to figure out. My first try was a BMW X1 fog light cable - grabbed a used one and it didn't work. Next...
